Non-uniform Day Rosh Chodesh Adar, Thursday 23rd February 2012

21 February 2012

Dear Parent(s),

Thursday this week marks the first day of Rosh Chodesh Adar (new Jewish month).

Students are welcome to attend school this Thursday in non-school uniform, and make a donation to this month’s chosen charity – Tikvah, which we are continuing to support. Tikvah is a Children’s Home in Ukraine, which cares for the homeless, abandoned and abused Jewish children of Odessa. They have contacted us to say that the children do not have suitable footwear for the hard Ukranian winter, so we are raising funds for this specific need.

Students should dress modestly and respectfully on the non-uniform day so as to maintain the good name and Jewish character of Elsa High School. Skirts should be to the knee and tops should not be sleeveless or low cut. Trousers are not permitted to be skin-tight, torn or inappropriate, and girls must wear a long top over them.

Please send your donation in cash only inside a sealed envelope with your child’s name written on the front.

Students who choose to attend in non-school uniform need to take responsibility for making a contribution to charity. If they choose not to make a contribution, they should come in their regular uniform.

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Netanel Bollag & Mr. Yair Dvir
